Job Description
SUMMARY Greets patients and visitors at Front Desk. Answers and transfers phone calls. Answers
questions and gives directions around facility. Registers patients for Outpatient procedures including Lab
and Radiology. Records daily receipts and prepares bank deposits. Gives assistance to Accounts
Receivable and Accounts Payable.
EDUCATION High school Diploma or equal
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED None
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General computer skills including
-basic Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
-typing and data entry
-the ability to learn new programs used in the healthcare setting
Other skills including
-the ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
-record maintenance skills
-ability to use independent judgement and maintain confidentiality of information
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-Answers incoming and in-house calls and directs them to proper individual or department.
-Pages personnel, relays calls or messages as situation requires.
-Answers questions or directs questioners to proper individual(s).
-Posts cash receipts to manual log and prepares bank deposit.
-Sorts and logs insurance checks and prepares bank deposit.
-Logs petty cash, reimburses employees when within limit ($50).
-Registers patients for outpatient procedures including Lab and Radiology. Explains basics of
privacy practices and patient rights to patients, secures signatures on consents and other
applicable documents. Receiving, verifying, and inputting correct insurance information.
-Updates and completes registration of patients treated when the Business Office is closed.
-Maintains standing orders and keeps them up to date. Reviews for Authorizations and ABNs.
-Assisting Accounts Receivable with answering patient questions about accounts and running
reports.
-Assisting Accounts Payable with inputting invoices and charges.
